Knoxville Pride and Knox Accountability

I made the trip to Knoxville yesterday for Pridefest. The pictures are here. They had higher crowds than ever before. It would have been a good opportunity for candidates to engage over 1000 voters, but the only campaign with a presence was Obama's. I could make the case for any of the U.S. Senate candidates to be there, but I was struck by the fact that Mike Padgett's campaign wasn't represented.

The festival took place on Market Square. One thing
I noticed right away was a banner hanging
over a door in one of the offices being revamped for Knox Accountability, a group pushing a petition drive to clean up the corruption in County government. The Knoxville News Sentinel covered the kickoff of the campaign.
