I'm proud of the hard work the folks in Shelby County are doing. After watching this video, it's clear there is a lot of education that must be done.

Thank God that those pastors don't represent ALL church leaders or ALL Christians!!

Where are the pro-equality clergy? Come on folks-- don't leave religion to the ignorant.

Good Lord. If it wasn't so sickening, it would be laughable that these preachers actually think that someone would CHOOSE to be gay. With all of the discrimination, hate, violence and aversion that homosexual people have to face every day, it is ludicrous to think that anyone would willingly MAKE a CHOICE to exist with those pressures.

If one wishes to discuss lifestyle choices, let us consider the growing gang populations in Memphis. MANY of these excuses for human beings are paid directly out of my pocket in a form of support that we call welfare.

Our gay members of society are generally more productive and contribute more to the growth and refinement of our society than the general population. It is absurd to withold protection from discrimination in the workplace from these folks because one might disagree with what they do in their own private lives.

Don't nitpick the Bible. It is God's privilege to judge; any human who practices prejudice is not following the will of our Lord. From Matthew 7:

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

God bless all of our brothers and sisters, regardless of race, creed, color or sexual orientation!

My partner and I are considering where we want to live after school (where from which we will both hold our BSN's) 2 qualified nurses, vlunteers, mothers, friends, productive members of society - Memphis is on the short list because of its hospitals.

When choosing where we will relocate this plays a role.

I guess Memphis doesn't need contibuting members of society.

Its a sad day.
